Hawthorn (Hvidtjørn) & Cacao Ceremony
In ancient traditions the hawthorn is seen as the gatekeeper to the fairy kingdom, healer for the broken heart and mother of sleep. Even nowadays it is well known for its potent medicine for the heart.
This is an introduction (or deepening of your connection) to the medicine and wild magic of Hawthorn (hvidtjørn). Afterwards we invite you to continue the journey with this sacred plant in your daily life. It is also an introduction or sweet reunion with Ceremonial Cacao as a guide for the ceremony.
In the symphony of these two amazing plants, we will guide you through a day of ceremony, of prayers, of music, of medicine and of introspection.

The wild Hawthorn
In times not so far back, it was one of the sacred plants of the hedges, the outskirts of the settlements. Planted to protect and mark the transition into another world, where behind the hedge the wild animals and spirits are living. Our ancestors believed in its healing properties for the heart - a tree so mighty as to even heal a broken heart.
It was known as a protector against evil spells and its elixir drunken to ease into sleep (to enter the dream world). It was seen as a door to the fairy kingdom and therefore a bad omen to cut down especially the wild grown, solitude trees. Like every rose it was as symbol and therefore medicine of showing the beauty of the flower (the heart), while being protected by the thorns.
ps. for you Danes - remember that Hawthorn is Hvidtjørn and not Havtorn :)
The Ceremony
Guided by the deep medicine of Hawthorn & Cacao, acoustic music and the energy of the winter darkness we will gather and journey inwards.
The ceremony has 3 parts:
A Cacao & Hawthorn ceremony - guided by acoustic music
A Heart sharing, where we witness and with-ness each other
A Hawthorn medicine meditation/dream-guidance with Hawthorn Extract
This is an opportunity for giving yourself a pause, a rest, a little oasis of medicine with whatever you need at that moment in the soft embrace of the spirit of Hawthorn, Cacao, singing and the shamanic drum. A space where you can allow yourself to be present with exactly what is right for you at that moment.

The ceremony will be held as a mixture of meditation, sounds, singing, shamanic drumming, shamanic treatments, relaxation, prayer and more. The flow of the ceremony will be facilitated by the plants and might change depending on the energy and needs of the participants.
There are no prerequisites & nothing you have to do, no specific way you have to be or preform during the ceremony. Come as you are with all that you are.
Together we will share a potluck dinner (sammenskudsgilde) and invite you to see this meal as part of the medicine as well.

Ceremonial Cacao
Ceremonial Cacao is quite different than the hot cocoa you might remember from your childhood.
Cacao has been used as a sacred plant medicine in rituals, ceremonies and rites of passage for many thousands of years in south and central America. It is an amazing and profoundly healing plant medicine - both gentle, powerful and enjoyable!
In this ceremony we will work with cacao as a sacred door opener into the world of Calendula.

Whatever perspective you come from you are welcome.
Our Ceremonial Cacao comes from non-hybridized, non-plantation under-story trees in the ancient tropical rain forest of Guatemala. It goes through minimum processing thus retain the active compounds and nutrients.
