We will be traveling to the jungle to continue our studies with the plants and our maestro Don Rono Lopez, and we invite 1-3 people to join us. It is an opportunity of learning and connecting with the plant wisdom of the earth, under the guidance of a native Shipibo curandero with more than 20 years of experience.

The traditional Shipibo Dieta

A plant Dieta is like a "plant Vipassana" - a sacred sanctuary where you enter into communion with a master plant. During the Dieta, you will cultivate your relationship with the spirit of the plant through fasting, solitude, silence, meditation, and drinking the plant's extract. The spirit of the plant will be your teacher, sharing its wisdom & spiritual medicine with you, teaching you how to raise your consciousness and step deeper into your life's path.

A Maestro / Maestra: A plant healer with a deep connection to the plants & experience is essential. While the plant becomes the teacher, the Maestro is the guide who helps you to communicate, understand & deepen your connection to Spirit. He/she ensures the proper connection to the Spirit during the Dieta and seals it afterwards.

Emerged in nature, we hold space for deep introspection and connection to earth’s wisdom
Dieting with Don Ronor will give you an authentic experience and a deeper insight in the Shipibo tradition of shamanism and plant medicine. It provides you the opportunity for profound healing, insights, transformation and connection to the powerful amazonian master plants. A chance to reach deep within your roots and to (re)connect with nature, your inner light, love and path in life.

An experience which can be truly life changing!

Plant dietas – a path of spiritual connection

Plant dietas are the cornerstone of the Shipibo healing tradition of curanderismo (shamanism). They can be seen as deep personal meditations where one enters into a relationship with a master plant, to form an alliance, a partnership for life. By fasting, drinking the plant’s extract, meditation and Ayahuasca ceremonies the spirit of the plant will be the teacher during the dieta and will share its wisdom, medicine, light, love and protection. It will transform old structures and connect you to love, light and nature.

Medicine songs (icaros) learned in this time, will help you to reconnect to that sacred space at any time.

To guide and strengthen your connection we will be offering:

  • Online Preparation Circle

  • 6-8 traditional ceremonies

  • 17 days of plant dieta with Noya Rao, Chullachaqui, Bobinsana, Chiric Sanango, Marosa (or Blue Lotus)

  • Talks/lessons with Don Rono on e.g. dieta, tools for ceremony & master plants

  • Translation of the lessons and talks in English/Danish

  • We will prepare you for the camp, support you during and be a life-line afterwards.

  • In Iquitos: we will take care of accommodation, show you around and airport pickup

  • At the camp Mokan Rate: Accommodation, meals and treatments

  • Transportation from / to the camp

  • Handcrafted ceremonial tools, pipes and items for sale

  • Audio recordings of ceremonies, talks and pictures etc.

  • Integration talks in Iquitos

  • Online Integration Circle a few weeks afterwards

Learn directly from Don Rono Lopez about dieta and master plants, icaros (Shipibo medicine songs), plant medicine and curanderismo (shamanism), and about the tools for ceremony: pipe, mapacho and agua de florida. He teaches in Spanish but Stephan and/or Eva will be there to translate everything as well as share their experiences and medicine.

Noya Rao the enlightened tree

Our program is a special and rare opportunity to diet the tree Noya Rao (Shipibo: Flying Medicine/Tree/plant spirit) – a true master plant!
In the Shipibo tradition Noya Rao is an enlightened being, the buddha of the trees and thereby a great teacher of e.g. love, spirit, healing and plant medicine. Noya Rao is in our experience one of the most enlightened and loving beings on earth – it is pure light. Not only spiritual, the light of the tree is even physical visible – the fallen leaves and sometimes even the bark are glowing in the dark.

You will have the chance to see this, at the Noya Rao tree at the camp Mokan Rate!

Dieting with Don Rono Lopez

Through Don Rono’s connection with the plants, his icaros (traditional Shipibo medicine songs), his care, teachings and dedication he will supervise, teach and help you deepen your connection to your dieta.
His camp, Mokan Rate (Shipibo: traditional medicine), is built specifically for dieting in a simple, traditional way. It is a school, teaching the ways of dieta and plant medicine in this profound tradition. The camp itself is set in a mystic location deep in the Amazonian rainforest surrounded by giant trees of wisdom, a beautiful garden of medicinal plants and a peaceful water stream running through it. There is room for 22 students some living in tobos (small huts) solitary in the forest and some in rooms in the centre of the center. The camp keep changing, as new things are being build. So things keeps changing :) It looks like there will be showers and normal western style toilets in February. Earlier we have been showering in the nearby river.

The Shipibo (Shipibo Konibo) are indigenous people in the Amazon rainforest in Peru. They are also called “the masters of Ayahuasca” and are known for their profound and ancient healing traditions of plant medicine/curanderismo (shamanism). The Shipibo say, that their knowledge of healing and plant medicine comes from the plants themselves, especially though dieting master plants (such as Noya Rao) and working with Ayahuasca. In our perspective, this tradition is in it’s core empowering, as it teaches us to take responsibility and an active part of our own healing – we help ourselves with the help of nature.
