Cacao & Mugwort
A ceremonial space for you to connect to the spirit & healing medicine of Cacao & Mugwort (Artemisia Vulgaris / Gråbynke)
Cacao & Mugwort in ceremony
Okay. Now we really start going into the magic! Artemisia (aka mugwort aka Gråbynke) is a queen of plants, a magical witchy plant connected to the moon, and used for centuries by wise medicine men and women.
Mugwort
Mugwort has been used as a magical and medicinal herb for thousands of years. Known as the healer of the women, it has been used in rituals since humans first settled in Europe.
Growing wild in rural areas, it is considered by many to be a weed, but its medicine can lift us to higher realms. It is one of our most powerful plant allies, bringing clarity and awareness.
Ceremonial Cacao
Cacao has been used as a sacred plant medicine in rituals, ceremonies and rites of passage for many thousands of years in south and central America. It is an amazing and profoundly healing plant medicine - both gentle, powerful and enjoyable!
In this ceremony we will work with cacao as a sacred door opener into the world of Mugwort.
The energy of cacao can be like a mother - so grounded, so loving, so deeply nourishing and connected to the earth. It is a wise, ancient and powerful plant medicine.
Cacao allows us to deepen into whatever practice or connection intentionally work with. Some comes to our ceremonies to reconnect to their hearts. Others comes for a pause, a resting place between the sometimes stressed everyday life. Others come to connect deeper with the healing energy, wisdom and medicine of nature. Whatever perspective you come from you are welcome.
The Ceremony
Guided by the loving spirit of Mugwort & Cacao, acoustic music and the energy of the winter darkness slowly creaping in, we will gather and journey inwards.
This is an opportunity for giving yourself a pause, a rest, a little oasis of medicine with whatever you need at that moment in the soft embrace of the spirit of Cacao, singing and the shamanic drum. A space where you can allow yourself to be present with exactly what is right for you at that moment.

The abundant, playful spirit of Cacao
Ceremonial cacao is quite different than the hot cocoa you might remember from your childhood.
Our Ceremonial Cacao comes from non-hybridized, non-plantation under-story trees in the ancient tropical rain forest of Guatemala. It goes through minimum processing thus retain the active compounds and nutrients.
It has more calcium than cows milk, 40 times more antioxidants than blueberries and is the number one superfood for magnesium.
It is a natural aphrodisiac, elevates the mood & energy. It increases blood flow and stimulates the cardiovascular system (your heart and blood vessels, that supplies your organs with oxygen and nutrients). Basically, it is a magical bomb of nutrients and psychoactive compounds that is highly beneficial for the body as well as supporting us in being present, mindful & connected to ourselves and our hearts.
We work with 100% Pure, direct traded ‘Ceremonial Grade’ Cacao from Guatemala.

Preparation
Intention/Prayer
As preparation for this ceremony we invite you to have an intention/prayer. This can be one theme or several related themes. It tends to be beneficial and more clear when going into ceremony with one mayor theme (that can have several under-topics).
As you prepare the days before and especially on the day itself you might want to bring the intention/prayer into your meditations and practices. Here are a few inspirational questions that might support you in zooming in on your intention/prayer:
What is your prayer for yourself and your life, your family and relations and for the earth?
What emotions/visions/themes comes up when you connect to the energy of Cacao/Mugwort?
What are the present themes in your life right now that you might want to address/explore in ceremony?
What is the most important for you to dive into / get a new perspective on right now?
Is there a specific way of being that you would like to practice during ceremony?
Are you experiencing strong blockages or openings in your life that you want to address/explore?
What feels the most nourishing and loving to look at?
Where do you feel your curiosity goes towards?
Physical preparation
Ceremonial cacao can be a little dehydrating so it is good to drink lots of water before and after the ceremony
It is a good idea to eat healthy during the day and avoid coffee, big amounts of sugar and dairy products and everything that is very “noisy” physically and energetically.
Please arrive to the ceremony on an empty stomach (aka stop eating 2 hours before). However, we will not be eating until 21:00-ish on the day so if you do have challenges with your blood sugar be sure to eat something stable right beforehand.
We invite you to avoid substances such as alcohol and marijuana on the day itself and possibly a few days before as well.
Once you register for the event we’ll send you a preparation guide for the ceremonial cacao.
