Healing Herbal Hands

Learn more about our Herbal Oils

We love our Healing Herbal Hands oils! This is such a nourishing, gentle and loving way to connect with the plants and their traditional wisdom. These oils are based on a very old and safe practice of infusing herbs in oil — known as oil maceration — a traditional method to extract and preserve the essence and beneficial plant compounds.

Just to clarify: these are not essential oils. They are full-spectrum herbal oils made through slow infusion. The process — from sowing, tending and harvesting to preparing — is done entirely by hand, with care, intention and song. Some of the plants are cultivated in our garden (like Yarrow, Mugwort and Calendula), while others are respectfully wild-harvested in harmony with the seasons (like St. John’s Wort and Wild Rose).

We don’t use blenders — all plants are hand-morted, and our copper knife is handmade, chosen for its symbolic act of giving something back to the plants during harvest.

Our oils are made in small seasonal batches, and therefore may vary slightly from year to year, depending on the energy and rhythm of nature..

What are Healing Herbal Hands Oils?

These oils are meant as companions for your self-care rituals, massage, or as a way to connect more deeply with the plants. Many of the herbs we use are traditionally known for their skin-supportive and soothing qualities, and are part of long-standing folk traditions across Europe and beyond.

Working with plant oils over time can help you develop a deeper relationship with each plant’s character and energy. A single use can introduce you to the herb — but, like all natural allies, their wisdom unfolds gradually with continued care and presence.

About our Relationship with the Plants

Our descriptions below come from two intertwined sources:

  • Traditional herbal knowledge, which draws on centuries of European folk medicine and modern herbal studies.

  • Our personal relationship with the plants, which includes intuitive and spiritual experiences cultivated through years of working closely with their spirits.

We share these perspectives for inspiration and education — not as medical claims or promises.

The Main Healing Herbal Hands Oils:

  • Calendula

    THE SOFT FEMININE TOUCH

    (Calendula officinalis / Morgenfrue)

Our Calendula seeds were gifted from a dear friend with a biodynamic garden in South Germany. Each summer, we meditate with the plants as they bloom across our garden — every flower handpicked and dried at just the right moment. The infusion is made with organic sunflower or almond oil.

In traditional herbalism, Calendula is one of the great skin allies — known for its soothing, nurturing, and protective qualities [1]. It has long been used externally to support comfort in dry, sensitive or irritated skin, and in folk traditions as a gentle ally for women’s health and vaginal well-being.

From our own work, Calendula feels like a soft, luminous presence — a bright golden healer spirit that brings light into the tender, hidden corners of the self. We experience her as a plant that gently illuminates trauma, allowing us to meet what we have kept in shadow with compassion and warmth.

Calendula’s healing light reaches beyond the skin — she teaches the art of soft strength, of stretching (not stressing) the nervous system, and of remembering the beauty in our inner landscape.

  • Artemisia/Mugwort

    THE WITCHES HERB

    (Artemisia vulgaris / Gråbynke)

Mugwort is an ancient plant of magic and protection, deeply rooted in European folk traditions. Often called the healer of women, she has been used for millennia in ritual, medicine, and dreamwork. The oil is made with organic olive or almond oil.

In traditional herbalism, Artemisia has been used as a supportive herb for reproductive and menstrual health, particularly for stagnation and delayed cycles [2]. Historically, she was burned as smudge or used in baths to cleanse, clear, and restore balance.

In our own practice, Mugwort is a plant of clarity, intuition, and transformation. She connects to the moon, to the womb, to the deep inner knowing that lives within the body. Working with Mugwort oil can feel like opening a door between the seen and unseen — inviting dreams, visions, and gentle awakenings.

This oil is especially cherished for womb massage, dreamwork, and ceremony. It can help bring presence and awareness to the body’s deeper rhythms and intuitive wisdom.

  • Sct. John's Wort

    LIQUID SUNSHINE

    (Hypericum perforatum / Perikon)

St. John’s Wort bursts into radiant yellow blossoms at midsummer — a living symbol of light and renewal. We wild-harvest this plant in Danish and Swedish meadows, infusing it into organic olive oil.

In traditional herbal medicine, St. John’s Wort has been valued for its skin-soothing and restorative qualities [3], often used in balms and oils for maintaining healthy skin. Folk healers also saw it as a protector of the spirit, a plant that wards off darkness and invites the sun back into the heart.

Energetically, we experience this as liquid sunshine — pure golden warmth in a bottle. It feels like the masculine counterpart to Calendula’s soft feminine light — bright, energizing, and steady. For us, working with St. John’s Wort oil during the darker seasons feels like lighting a small inner sun.

Because of its activating, warming quality, we recommend using it earlier in the day rather than right before sleep.
